Meet the Founders

We're building Peerakeet because we believe no one should have to navigate recovery alone. Our team combines experience in mental health, technology, and community building to create a platform that actually works for people.

👨‍💼

Ishan Shah

Co-Founder and CEO

Ishan co-founded Peerakeet after witnessing firsthand how isolating addiction can be—not just for the person struggling, but for the people who love them. With a background in public health and a passion for human connection, he brings design, strategy, empathy, and big-picture thinking to the team. Ishan focuses on shaping the app's vision, building partnerships, and ensuring that every feature we build moves us closer to a world where people struggling with addiction never feel alone.

👨‍💻

Hunter Adrian

Co-Founder and CTO

Hunter is the engineering force behind Peerakeet. A former D1 wrestling team captain and computer science graduate from Brown, he began building Peerakeet after a conversation on a team bus about addiction, recovery, and how tech could be used for good. Since then, he's led every aspect of product development—from front-end experience to scalable backend systems—with speed, clarity, and purpose. Hunter is deeply committed to building technology that's not just beautiful and secure, but transformational for people who feel most alone.

Our Mission

We're building Peerakeet because existing solutions for addiction and recovery support are fragmented, stigmatized, and often inaccessible. We believe technology can bridge these gaps and create meaningful connections that save lives.

🤝 Community First

We prioritize building genuine, supportive communities over profit or growth metrics.

🔒 Privacy by Design

Your privacy and anonymity are fundamental to our platform, not afterthoughts.

🌱 Continuous Learning

We're constantly learning from our community to improve and evolve our platform.
